JXtended Comments is a component that enables users to leave comments and feedback on your articles. There’s also added functionality for sharing articles and ratings on articles. Helen will use many of these features as she posts whimsical articles about her pets and pet experiences.

Figure 18-72 shows JXtended Comments at the bottom of a full article titled Pet Rocks Now Available! Under the article, you can see the Sharing section. This section gives you the ability to add this page to several social bookmarking websites, sharing services, or share directly with friends via email. If you don’t want sharing features, you can disable them in the Content–Comments system plug-in.

Below the Sharing section, we see the rating system—clicking the number of stars to represent how they rate the article. We see that the article is rated four out of five stars. Once a user votes, they can’t vote again. If you don’t want the rating features, you can disable them in the Content–Comments system plug-in.

This brings us to the Comments section of this extension. After listing how many comments this article has, the extension gives you an RSS feed link
