In this chapter, you learn how to use the Google Spreadsheets application.

The spreadsheet application in the Google Docs suite is called Google Spreadsheets. It includes many of the features found in Microsoft Excel and other software-based spreadsheet programs, including formulas, functions, and charts. You can use Google Spreadsheets for any application that uses numbers and text, including budgets, financial comparisons, and the like.

Understanding Google Spreadsheets

Google Spreadsheets is a web-based spreadsheet application. It looks and feels a bit like Microsoft Excel, except that, like all Google applications, it’s based in the cloud.
