Step 1: Identify Target Users, User Needs, and Core Tasks

In this chapter I will assume that you have already defined your target users, found their needs, and identified the core tasks, as described in the previous chapters. The target users for our example device are small business owners in low-income markets. Depending on the complexity of the product you have, there may be one, two, or many core tasks. In our specific example of a low-cost mobile device, the core tasks shown in Figure 6-2 have been identified.
