About the Authors

R. Allen Wyke has worked for several different software companies, where he has built and ran development, quality assurance, documentation, technical support, professional services, and information systems teams. He has served in C-level positions in these organizations, participated in mergers and acquisitions, and has been involved in Web-based applications and Internet-related functions and standards development for the past decade.In addition to these positions, he originally co-founded and initially chaired the Emergency Management Technical Committee at OASIS, participated on the P3P Working Group at the W3C, the CPExchange group at IDEAlliance, and other standards efforts. He has been fortunate enough to work on some of the groups and committees that help make the Internet work. He has also written a dozen books, numerous articles, and produced a training video on various standards, Internet technologies, and programming languages such as XML, XHTML, JavaScript, .NET, and Perl.Allen, also he has worked with, consulted, or provided pro-bono time to help various startup software companies understand how to survive and thrive in the chaotic and unpredictable circumstances they live in.
