Chapter 9. VR Locomotion

Movement in VR is still an experimental field. This chapter introduces you to the concept of simulator sickness and some of the possible causes of discomfort in VR. You are also introduced to some of the more prominent movement mechanics currently used in VR games.

Simulator Sickness

Unlike motion sickness, which arises from physical motion, simulator sickness is the by-product of subjecting users to a perceived motion (in VR, in our case) that differs from what their bodies tell them.
