If you’ve been in the work world for any length of time (even if you’ve just left your first job), the chances are excellent that you have been told by at least one person that pursuing your passion is all very nice, but it won’t put bread on the table. It’s almost as if the mere fact that you have a passion about something automatically disqualifies it as a viable career path. Expressions like “castles in the air” or terms such as “pipedreams” immediately come into play when you talk about some kind of work or life experience that makes your eyes light up.
