Identifying Events

If you have configured your enterprise so that all of the events are sent to a centralized event browser, you may need a way to distinguish events from each other. Event browsers typically include the event source in the message of an event. Many enterprise management frameworks provide some kind of grouping mechanism to group events together.

In IT/O, for example, has message groups. When events are received into IT/O by an agent or at a management station, message groups are assigned based on matching conditions defined in the templates.
