Barcode Scanners
The Windows.Devices.PointOfService namespace supports two types of point of service devices (sometimes called point of sale devices): barcode scanners and magnetic stripe readers. The APIs are based on the Unified Point of Service 2.0 international standard, so if you have used another point of service technology for traditional desktop apps, such as POS for .NET, they should feel very familiar to you. This section looks at barcode scanners, and the next section looks at magnetic stripe readers.
