File Type Associations

You can add any number of File Type Associations declarations to your package manifest for PC and/or phone, one per file type. With each one, you have a few pieces of information to fill out:

Display name—Text used to describe the type of file in Control Panel.

Logo—An image used for file icons in the Windows desktop. If you don’t specify one, your app’s square 30x30 logo is used.

Info tip—Text used for the icon’s tooltip in the Windows desktop.

Name—An all-lowercase ID used by Windows that should never change, even if you update the display name in a future version of your app.

Edit flags—You can decide whether downloaded files of this type are safe to automatically open. The choices are “Open is safe” or “Always ...
