Defining Ad Units in pubCenter

First, make sure you have signed up with pubCenter at http://pubcenter.microsoft.com with the same Microsoft Account that you use to submit apps to the Windows Store. You can register apps and define ad units on the website. Currently, pubCenter forces you to define separate “apps” for PC versus phone. You then define PC-specific ad units for one app and phone-specific ad units for the other app. All of the ads can be integrated into the same universal app.

To define phone ad units, click “Monetize new app” on the pubCenter website, select “Windows Phone” as the device type, then enter an app name (any unique name that makes sense to you; it doesn’t have to match your real app name). You can then add any number ...
