Pen Input

Windows includes fantastic support for pen input. Although Figure 5.1 shows a pen digitizer as an external device, it can be integrated directly into the screen just like a touch digitizer. Indeed, this is how tablets such as the Surface Pro work. So when you read digitizer in this section, you can typically think screen.

By now, it has been drilled into your head that the pointer, gesture, and manipulation events work great for pen input. Furthermore, it should come as no surprise that from these events, you can access pen-specific information to interact with pen-specific tricks: pressure sensitivity, eraser mode, and more.
