Democracy As It Is Understood

The increasing loss of jobs in future is not in dispute, although the extent of the losses and the period may vary, while how this will affect the overall political system of the planet is still unknown.

The job losses issue has had a great deal of attention, but almost nothing has been said about how this will in turn affect the structure of the political system both in individual countries and for the world as a whole. But, change will be required.

Again, the question becomes how much change and whether the democratic systems, as currently understood, will survive. Hawking postulates that they will not, and what will evolve is a singular world government required to control AI.1 A precursor to such ...
