Malayalam
The Malayalam script (pronounced “MAH-luh-yah-lum,” not “muh-LAY-uh-lahm”) is used to write the Malayalam language, spoken in the Kerala region of southern India.[10] Malayalam shares structure with the other Indic scripts. It has 36 consonants and 14 independent vowels (Figure 9.11). As in the other scripts we've looked at so far, the consonants carry an inherent a.
