Chapter 8 The UWB Channel and Receiver

Properties of IR-UWB signals and related spectral characteristics were investigated in previous chapters. The analyses also included the two recent proposals in the United States within the IEEE 802.15 Task Group 3a, specifically DS-UWB (Roberts, 2003) and the MB (Batra et al., 2003) approach, which adopts continuous transmission based on OFDM rather than IR.

This chapter analyzes the signal at the receiver, that is, after propagation over the radio channel, as shown in Figure 8–1.
