So far we have seen that it is necessary to set up and configure our computers to use an IP address, a subnet mask and various other components. These components are programs (protocols) like DNS, WINS and some other aspects that are outside the scope of this book. What if we do not want to have to do this each time that another computer is added onto our system or, alternatively, perhaps we have a salesforce that travels round the countryside going into each of our main offices to submit quotes, check price lists and so on.
