The Boundaryless Organization
Jack Welch, the former and high-profile chairman of the General Electric Company, is credited with introducing the term âboundarylessâ to the lexicon of American business. He saw vertical and horizontal boundaries within a company and the barriers between the company and its customers and suppliers as limiting factors to overall competitive success. The boundaryless organization is not defined by, or limited to, the horizontal, vertical, or external boundaries established in a traditional organizational structure.1
