9. The Domain

Composites are deployed to a domain, which contains one or more runtimes that host components. The domain, however, plays a much bigger role in SCA than simply defining a set of cooperating runtimes composites are deployed to. The domain is the foundation of SCA and provides management facilities, resource sharing, policy administration, and the communications infrastructure for wiring services.
