Abstract

Chapter 5 provides technical details about the receiver in terms of its functional modules. This chapter starts with the generic receiver structure and its different classifications. It also gives details about different important prerequisite topics such as noise and some basics of signal processing, which are the bare minimum need for this chapter. Different functional units of the receiver are featured, with the finer points of their functionalities. It presents details about the front end, the correlator, and the processor.
