The purpose of Part III is to introduce the concepts and issues associated with the deployment of large-scale PKIs. This part of the book is not intended to be a step-by-step deployment handbook. Part III is deliberately small; more specific deployment details could easily be the topic of an entire book. In fact, many PKI vendors offer rather voluminous and comprehensive deployment manuals to their customers, and a number of firms offer consulting services in the area of PKI deployment.
