Chapter 3. The Concept of an Infrastructure
In this chapter, we introduce and discuss the idea of an infrastructure for security by considering the features and benefits of pervasive infrastructures with which we are currently familiar. This leads to a working definition of a Public-Key Infrastructure (PKI), which forms the basis of understanding for all remaining chapters.
