Cut your losses

Imagine you have an old friend who every time you see her or talk on the phone, you find you have less and less in common with her; you have less to talk about. Since her divorce five years ago she’s become more and more bitter and resentful. Her negative attitude simply drains you. Would you continue to keep in touch or quietly let the friendship fade away?
