15  Preproduction and Preliminary Stages: Embracing Reality and Defining the Materials of the Project

The preliminary stages of the project will define the musical ideas of the project, many qualities about the music and the recording, and move toward making the proper production decisions to best capture or realize those ideas. The realities of artistic, technical, logistical, and conceptual concerns will all be considered and addressed.
