14  The Sounds of Recordings: Shaping Musical Ideas and Musical Expression

As we have been learning, musical ideas and the materials that present them are given extra dimensions and may be thereby enhanced in recordings. The artistic elements first described in Chapter 2 provide this enhancement, and are also dimensions that can be used for musical expression.
