10.1. The Role of Finance

Finance has a role similar to, but different from, that of corporate governance. The similarities have to do with creating value and fostering transparency throughout the company. However, there are differences in the way the financial organization achieves value and transparency compared with corporate governance.

Value is added by developing and implementing effective enterprise planning that delivers data to stakeholders throughout the company. This is made possible by the finance organization's processes and systems.
