10.6. Creating Intersections

All intersections of processes should be properly identified and reflected in the company's policies and procedures. This is a difficult task. The objective is to design processes to capture interdependencies and to have procedures in place that remediate gaps in interdependencies as soon as those gaps are identified.

Finance needs a central body within its organization that is responsible for managing, maintaining, and monitoring financial policies and procedures. Without a central body and repository for policies and procedures, there is a risk of duplicate efforts and having gaps in the inventory of policies and procedures.
