The Case Study Status

As EAB Healthcare begins to consider its options moving forward to database implementation, we will see how the plans for normalizing the existing logical analysis models continue and begin moving the logical models into database design models. In this chapter, we do not look specifically at the ways data modeling is done in the UML, but we plan for the next chapter, where the data model is specifically created by modeling the database as it will exist. The database design team at EAB needs to go back and make sure that a good understanding of the initial requirements exists among the team members and that iterations of those requirements and recently uncovered requirements are spelled out clearly.
