Chapter 5. Analysis and Preliminary Design

In this chapter we transition from the realm of business needs and requirements into the world of designing an information system. At this point, from the use case perspective, we should have a good understanding of what needs to be built. We now proceed with the logical design of the system that will provide the common blueprint for what we will build. How the system will be built (specific technologies, languages, and so on) comes later in the life cycle.
