Chapter 14. HR Outsourcing and Metrics

Any modern writing on HR includes some commentary on the prevalence of HR outsourcing (HRO). Since this book is on HR measurement and metrics, this would seem an opportune time to introduce outsourcing here. When writing about HRO and HR metrics the temptation is to list the myriad functional areas, associated measures, and service levels and, while tempting and of possible interest to a few, those looking for that data won’t find it in this chapter.

If you’re an HR professional looking for benchmarking data on which to make guesstimates on the applicability of outsourcing to your organization, those resources are plentiful... elsewhere. This chapter is about the importance of HR measurement in the broader scope of HR service delivery in which outsourcing plays a prominent role.
