Virtual Network Computing

Everything we have looked at so far has been about remote access using the command line, with no mention so far of how to bring up a graphical user interface (GUI). There are several ways of doing this in Ubuntu, some of which are listed in the “Reference” section later in this chapter. Here we discuss the most popular and the most preferred by the Ubuntu community, which is also the best supported by the developers: Virtual Network Computing (VNC).
