Systems administrators, or Sysadmins, are the people who keep servers and networks up and running. Their role is sometimes called operations. They deal with software installation and configuration, security, and do all the amazing things behind the scenes that let others use these systems for their work. They are often given less respect than they deserve, but the pay is good and it is a ton of fun to wield the ultimate power over a computer system.
