Project 7E: Changing Your Splash Screen

Well, now you've changed just about all there is to change system-wise, but there is actually one more item that you can tinker with—the splash screen. This version of Ubuntu doesn't actually have a splash screen, so you may very well be unfamiliar with the term. Basically, it is a small, borderless window that appears in the middle of the screen while GNOME is starting up, right after you log in but before you get to your desktop. It isn't really necessary, but it can look pretty cool and add a touch of personalization to your system.
