THE PAGE86 Using flush-left, rag-right type

THE COMMON ALTERNATIVE to justified type is flush-left type: since we read from left to right, it is important, especially for reading long passages of text, that the eye of the reader can return to an easy-to-locate place when beginning every line of text. The added advantage of this unjustified type alignment is that the word spaces are consistent, unlike those of justified type, thereby aiding legibility.
