THE PAGE93 Chaos versus order

OPPOSITES ATTRACT AND CAN COEXIST. Sometimes we crave structure; other times, we want nothing more than to break free from that very structure. As long as the designer’s intention is clear, either approach may work well—or, in some cases, both can work together, playing off one another. Type, whether it’s individual letters or passages of text, has the plasticity to accommodate chaos as well as the inherent structure that allows it to be well organized.
