If an entire magazine was set using black 12-point Helvetica, would readers be able to successfully navigate the content? Would they even want to purchase the magazine from a newsstand, take it home, and read it? one of the designer’s jobs is to clarify, distinguish, and enhance information. Sometimes a single typeface has to be used for reasons beyond the designer’s control.

Designers do not always have the luxury of choosing a different typeface to denote different products or services, because doing so may disrupt the brand’s look and feel. Other times a type family has been established to create unity and order.
