Twitter Name

What's in a Name?

So, you're about to create your Twitter profile, and you have to think of a name—not your name—but your Twitter username. You will be asked to put in two items: your real name and your username. The goal is to be purposeful in choosing how you're going to show up on Twitter. Figure 4.1 shows the differences between your real name and username.

Decisions: Change Profile or Create New Profile?

Sometimes during the rebranding phase of your organization, you might want to keep your old username as well. The goal would be to communicate through your avatar, bio, and tweets your new Twitter account.

Look at what they did for Jimmy Fallon when he moved from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

He went from @LateNightJimmy to @FallonTonight (see Figure 4.2):
