Twitter is rapidly becoming known as a great research tool, a way to communicate with clients and colleagues, and a place to share knowledge instantaneously. Twitter can be used by workplace learning professionals in conducting training as well.

So what is Twitter? Twitter is a combination of a microblog and a social network. Users can post text-based messages (known as “tweets”) of up to 140 characters in length, which are then viewed by users who are “following” their accounts.
