About the Authors

Russell L. Ackoff is the Anheuser-Busch Professor Emeritus of Management Science, the Wharton School, and a Distinguished Affiliated Faculty member, Center for Organizational Dynamics, both at the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a visiting chair in the Centre for Systems Studies at the University of Hull in the United Kingdom. He has served as a visiting professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the University of Birmingham (U.K.), Lisbon University, and Washington University (St. Louis). He received a Bachelor of Architecture in 1941 and a Ph.D. in philosophy of science (1947) from the University of Pennsylvania, and seven honorary degrees from universities in the United States, Peru, and England. ...
