Attending Meetups

Remarkably, Tumblr users from all around the world are getting together to meet in person at Meetups. A Meetup is a public event organized by a group of Tumblr users who have shared interests.

You can find out if there are any upcoming scheduled Meetups near you on the Tumblr website. If there aren’t, you might want to consider organizing your own Tumblr Meetup. Tumblr can even help you spread the word to people in your general geographic region.

Attending a Tumblr Meetup

To view a listing of upcoming scheduled Meetups around the world, visit the Tumblr Meetups page at www.tumblr.com/meetups . Meetups are scheduled by date, city, meeting location, and time, with the soonest meetings listed at the top of the page, as shown in Figure 7-11.

If you see a Meetup location that you’d like to join, click it to view that Meetup’s details. From there, you can view location details, RSVP in the top-right corner of the page, and add any comments to that Meetup’s discussion board. Then all you need to do is put the date on your own calendar and show up. The rest is up to you.
