CHAPTER 8

LARGE-SCALE APPLICATIONS

Satoru Ishizuka

This chapter provides information on large-scale use and applications of tubular flame. Most of the tubular flame burners discussed in this chapter are large in diameter, from 2 to 12 inches, and large in heat output, from a few kilo Watts to 2 MW. In the first section, a variety of developed burners are classified into four groups, and general characteristics of flame diameter and length, and fundamental knowledge on rapidly mixed tubular flame combustion are given. In subsequent sections, the four classified burners are specifically introduced.
