13. Reporting to Management

As team leader, one of your most important duties is to regularly report to management. A management report really is a way of saying: “This job is under control and we don’t need your help right now.” Since this is the implicit message of every management review and report, you must make yourself completely clear whenever you do need help. From your perspective, management reviews and reports are important for three reasons.

1. You want to show management that you and your team are doing a good job and that you will deliver a quality product on schedule and at the planned cost.
