10. Following the Process

In the TSP launch, your team defined the process it felt was best for this job and based its estimate and plan on that process. The team then committed a date to management. Assuming that the plan is reasonably accurate and that you and the team follow the process, you should be able to meet your commitments. However, if some or all of the team members do not follow this process, the plan will no longer represent what you are doing and there is no telling what will happen. If history is any guide, when teams do not follow their agreed processes and plans, they take far longer than planned and they deliver poor quality products.
