Motivation causes action. Without motivation, nothing much happens. While some things people do are instinctive, such as eating and self-protection, most of our actions are the result of conscious choice. These choices are governed by our motivations. So motivation is key to much of what we do, and it is fundamental to creative behavior, both for individuals and for teams. But what is motivation, and how can we motivate people to do what we want them to do?
