This part introduces the notion of Trusted Platforms and the value of the technology. It also introduces the concept of trust mechanisms, how they are achieved, and how they will be used. This part is intended for a readership that has no or little knowledge of the concept of Trusted Platform technology, but Chapter 3 does require some basic understanding of computer security mechanisms.
