Trusted Platform Architectural Adaptations

This section describes the adaptations that turn existing computer architectures into TPs. The ability to adapt existing architectures is essential, because a TP must not prevent (and preferably not hinder) users from doing anything that they normally do, and they normally use applications that execute on existing computer architectures. As considered in Chapter 1, any hardware modifications are as simple as possible because the hardware cost of a platform is a hard limit on the price of the platform, and price is always a major factor in the success of any mass-produced product.
