About TCPA
This section briefly highlights TCPA's objective, approach, and scope.
Objective of TCPA
The objective of TCPA is “through the collaboration of platform, software, and technology vendors, [to] develop a specification that delivers an enhanced HW- and OS-based trusted computing platform that enhances customers' trusted domains” [TCPA, 2000a]. In particular, this will allow technology companies to offer more trusted and secure personal computers for conducting e-business.
Approach of TCPA
The approach of TCPA is as follows:
Produce the specification mentioned above, so that the hardware can be mass produced and installed in as many platforms as possible.
Encourage software vendors to write programs that use the new hardware.
