ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Robert Benson applies more than forty-five years of academic and corporate experience to assist nearly one hundred companies and government agencies in understanding the business value of IT, strategic and financial IT management, strategic IT planning, effective IT application development, and IT governance. He has consulted for and conducted workshops with clients in the US, Mexico, Europe, and the Pacific Rim. He has written more than 150 short advisories on business technology strategy and IT governance as well as executive reports, executive updates, and Cutter IT Journal articles. He is a Fellow with Cutter Consortium's Business Technology Strategies and Government & Public Sector practices. He is also a Principal with The Beta Group.

Bob Benson taught computer science and information management at Washington University in St. Louis (USA) for forty years, where he also served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Computing and Communications, Dean, and in various financial executive positions. He has also taught information systems and management at Tilburg University (the Netherlands) and is a member of its faculty. Mr. Benson has appeared in numerous keynotes at executive conferences, including Cutter's Summits in the US and Mexico, Gartner Symposium/Expo events, Information Management Forum CIO, Enterprise Architecture Conference, IQPC-sponsored Summits, and others.
