Why experience the solution when you can just look it up instead? It's human nature to prefer the ready-made solution. After all, so many computer problems are common or similar enough that someone somewhere must have had the same thing happen to them. Then, all you need to do is look up that answer and get on with your life. That's the function of the chapters in this part of the book.
