Configuration Manager Site Recovery

Previously, in this chapter, we've discussed the different Configuration Manager backup options. Now let's have a look at how these backups can be used to recover sites and site servers in case of a disaster. There are multiple ways to recover a site. The method you can use depends on what has happened and what backup is available to you.

We will concentrate on the following four possible scenarios in this chapter:

  • Install new Configuration Manager Primary site and restore previous site from SQL backup.
  • Install new Configuration Manager Primary site and restore previous site from Configuration Manager backup.
  • Recover Primary site from Configuration Manager backup.
  • Recover Secondary Site.
