Summary

Nova is a central service of OpenStack and is widely used. Understanding how to troubleshoot Nova effectively will go a long way. There are a lot of moving parts to Nova. However, you need to ensure that all the Nova services are running, the database is operating correctly, the Nova authentication setup is correct, Glance is configured properly, and Nova is configured properly. If you do all these accurately, you should be able to successfully navigate through most Nova troubleshooting issues. In the next chapter, we will dive into the world of OpenStack block storage as we look to troubleshoot Cinder.
