Summary

The purpose of this chapter was to provide a starting point when attempting to troubleshoot areas of concern across the network environment. Of course, there is always more to learn, and knowing this will take you on a journey that goes far beyond the basic syntax of dig, ping, or even tcpdump. However, having toured a number of commands and utilities, you can now see how becoming an effective troubleshooter is quickly becoming an obtainable goal. To further our cause, we will now set our sights on the need to troubleshoot package management.
